A renowned hardware leaker @momomo_us is sharing the first pictures of Intel’s next-gen CPUs.

The LGA-4710 socket for which those processors were designed for, should not be mistaken with LGA-7529. Although the latter is also for Granite Rapids except for the AP version. The larger socket will also support CPUs codenamed “Sierra Forest”, Intel’s future Efficient-core implementation for Xeon platform.

The smaller LGA-4170 socket could end up with ‘consumer/workstation’ series known as Xeon WS eventually, however nothing has so far confirmed such plans. The current workstation series known as Sapphire Rapids-WS deployed as Xeon W3400/2400 series should expect a refresh early next year.

Judging from what has been shared by the leaker, Intel is currently evaluating two IHS (integrated heatspreader) designs for its LGA-4170 processors, one seemingly sharing the same design approach similar to AMD AM5 CPUs known as “Raphael” or Ryzen 7000 series.

In a reply to this leak, another leaker “YuuKi-AnS” has revealed that such a socket is mentioned for a platform known as “Beechnut City”, which supports GNR-SP CPUs. Intel Beechnut City is a dual-socket platform for Granite Rapids, the upcoming Intel data-center processors based on Granite Rapids-SP architecture.

According to the slide, which is understandably from Intel, this platform would support up to 350W TDP SKUs and up to 8 channel DDR5 memory up to 6400 MT/s. It is currently used as a ‘main validation vehicle’, which introduces some major changes compared to the Eagle Stream platform highlighted in green color. Before Granite Rapids launches next year, Intel is yet to deploy a 5th Gen Xeon platform known as “Emerald Rapids”, which will support the same platform as the current 4th Gen Xeon Sapphire Rapids.
